Biographies

Paula Harris, Principal Consultant and Owner
With over nine years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Ms. Harris brings a global and strategic perspective to all her consulting work. Working in fundraising, marketing and executive management for various nonprofits, Ms. Harris possesses a wealth of experience in board development, strategic planning and fundraising and marketing planning and execution. Ms. Harris completed the renowned Indiana University School of Philanthropy's Fundraising School including "Principles and Techniques of Fundraising" in 2003 and "Developing an Effective Major Donor Campaign" in 2005. Ms. Harris completed hours of continuing education, including "Developing Effective Print Materials," "How to Supervise Effectively," "Getting Started with Planned Giving," and numerous additional topics related to nonprofit management. She has served on numerous Boards and volunteered with nonprofits, including Sanctuary for Birth and Wellness, Outlet Program of Community Health Awareness Council, and Globe Aware in Costa Rica.

Shannon C. Turk, Principal Consultant
Working in the nonprofit and social services arenas for more than twelve years, Ms. Turk brings a comprehensive understanding of organizational structure and a unique vision for marketing and brand positioning to her clients.  Ms. Turk most recently served as the Director of Outlet, a youth empowerment program, where she was responsible for all fundraising activities, marketing and communications, advisory committee development, program development and execution, and service evaluation.  She has extensive experience with marketing, communications, and fund development in the Bay Area, as she has previously worked with Family & Children Services in Palo Alto, the YWCA of the Mid-Peninsula, and Family Service Agency of San Francisco.  Additionally, Ms. Turk has demonstrated success with organizational development, human resource management and brand creation through her experience in the private sector.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and a master’s degree in Women’s Studies from San Diego State University.
